In the Southwest corner of the state of Colorado are the San Juan Mountains. We were headed down this way for my husband to run the Hardrock 100. These are dramatic and beautiful mountains with wildflowers like I have never seen. We stayed in Silverton prior to the race. One day a group of us wanted to do a “short” hike (short for ultra runners) so we hiked to Ice Lake so Alan and the other runners could see the race course. Here are some photos of our day.
